The Deep Things of God by Fred Sanders

downloadIn our men’s Theological Discussion Group, we have been discussing the book by Fred Sanders titled The Deep Things of God: How the Trinity Changes Everything published by Crossway in 2010. Sanders laments how the doctrine of the Trinity has been neglected in recent church life and calls for a renewed emphasis on this most important doctrine. The first two of seven chapters lay the groundwork for the book, detailing the inner workings of the Trinity. Sanders highlights in chapters 3 through 5 the major thesis of his book, namely, the work of the Trinity in salvation. Here we see how the entire Trinity participates in the work of God in saving sinners including justification and adoption.

The book is a methodical yet excellent treatment into the workings on God in the saving and sanctifying of the believer.
