D. A. Carson on his (extra)ordinary dad

I just finished reading D. A. Carson’s book, Memoirs of an Ordinary Pastor. Carson has done the church a service with this book.   I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who said (a paraphrase I’m sure), “God must love the common man because he made so many of them.”  This book is an encouragement for all who labor in gospel ministry since Tom Carson labored like so many have throughout the history of the church; quietly and often in anonymity. Kudos to the son for allowing us to see enough of his father to know that he like us was sinful, yet graciously forgiven.
