This is the first blog of “God Incarnate” and the first blog I have ever written. The name of the blog is rooted in two facts. First, some 30 years after God graciously saved this wretched sinner, I am still amazed at the fact that God became a man. Second, my Ph.D. dissertation dealt with the meaning of the Greek noun μορφή in Philippians 2:6 and 7.
My hope and prayer is that this blog will be an encouragement to anyone who might find it. I am not exactly sure what form (no pun intended) it will take on, but I plan to comment on issues that relate to the person and work of Christ, his bride the church, and the task of shepherding.

Welcome to the blogsphere! I hope you do a post (or several!) summarizing your the findings of you doctorate. I was struck the other day about why Paul choose to include the Word “morphe” before “theou”. It would make it a lot easier to demonstrate the divinity of Jesus from this passage had he omitted it. I’m also intrigued why he said “likeness (homoiomati) of men. Again, it would seem that the doctrine of Jesus’ perfect humanity would be more clearly demonstrated with out it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.
